6th and 7th Grade Engineering:
Monday: Students will complete their natural disaster/human made disaster projects. If students finish early, they may work on creating a Kahoot! for review of the final exam.
Tuesday: We will review for the final exam by playing a Kahoot!
Wednesday: We will take our final exam (worth 20% of your final grade).
Thursday-Friday: We will design, learn, and engrave various items with the LaserPRO. Students will learn how laser technology works! 3 sketches of their designs will be due on Friday. Journal checks will be on Friday.
8th Grade Video Broadcasting:
This week, we will work on a variety of smaller projects that will involve research. While students work, Mrs. G will pull small groups to start practicing for the morning news. Consider this our "trial run" before we start filming the news. Students who were selected will film their interview project for "Before They Were Teachers."
Monday: Students will begin researching an influential American journalist (broadcast or print) of their choice. Students will create a Powerpoint, Prezi, or Google Slide presentation and share the final presentation to Mrs. G's email ([email protected]). All requirements and the rubric for the project can be found here.
Tuesday: Students will continue to research their journalist and finish their presentation.
Wednesday: Students will create a Word Cloud with trade terms from the Broadcasting industry. A good resource for definitions can be found here.
Thursday: Students will continue to work on their Word Cloud.
Friday: Film Friday -- Watch news clips of student news and/or regional news. Students will be required to turn in a critique of the clips.
